Privacy information for the website
The German appraisers association BIIS welcomes you to our website. We appreciate your interest and would like to make your stay on our website as pleasant as possible. For us, this also includes responsible handling of your data, which meets the legal requirements in Germany in every respect.
1. Scope
This data protection notice applies to the following Internet offers and the associated subdomains: www.biis.de and www.biis.info
2. Processing of data with and without personal reference
a. Surf our website
In principle, you can visit our website without telling us who you are. We collect data about every server access (so-called server log files) concerning our offer.
The access data include the name of the website accessed, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address and the requesting provider. The data is used exclusively for the administration and optimization of the Internet offer and for statistical purposes. During the process, no usage profiles will be generated.
The IP address can be a personal date, because under certain conditions it is possible to find out the identity of the owner of the Internet access used through information from the respective Internet provider. We only evaluate the IP address when our internet infrastructure is attacked. In this case, we have a legitimate interest in the processing of the IP address within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 f) DS-GVO. It results from the need to ward off the attack on the Internet infrastructure, to determine the origin of the attack, in order to be able to take criminal and civil law action against the responsible person, and to effectively prevent further attacks.
b. Establishing contact and communication
On some pages you can enter personal data in the input fields for the purpose of correspondence with us. This data is only processed for the purpose for which you have given us the data, e.g. For example, to process your inquiries, register for conferences or to contact you at your request. In this case, the processing of personal data takes place with your consent and is therefore in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 a) DS-GVO permitted. We will delete your data in this regard if the purpose for which you have given us your data is fulfilled or completed and we are not authorized or obliged to store it for legal reasons.
3. Information applications from other providers
Our website contains content from third-party providers, for example map material from Google Maps. This always presupposes that these third-party providers use the IP address of the user, since no content can be sent to the user's browser without the IP address. We strive to only include content from third-party providers that only use IP addresses to deliver the content. However, we have no influence on whether third-party providers save IP addresses, for example, for statistical purposes. The applications are hosted on the partners' servers and operated by these partners. Please note that the use of such an application is subject to the data protection provisions of the respective partner who is responsible for this processing within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 DS-GVO.
a. Use of cookies
Cookies are also used on our website. Cookies are small text files. which are downloaded from the websites you visit to your computer or to your mobile device. The use of cookies serves on the one hand to make the use of our offer more pleasant for you. We use so-called session cookies to recognize that you have already visited individual pages on our website. These session cookies are automatically deleted when you leave our site. In addition, we use web analysis cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you (see below "Matomo"). These cookies collect anonymized tracking data about how the BIIS websites are used: for example, about the length of stay, page views and movements of the user via links. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined time. Third-party providers also generate cookies.
You have the option of setting the internet browser you are using so that cookies are not saved. Some browsers already allow cookies in the basic setting. If you do not want this, you can change this setting in your browser. How this is done can be found in the information provided by the manufacturer of your browser. If you decide against cookies, parts of our website may not be able to be used.
b. Matomo (formerly Piwik)
We use the open source software Matomo to analyze and statistically evaluate the use of the website. Cookies are used for this (see "Cookies" above). The information generated by the web analysis cookie is transferred to our server and stored for usage analysis purposes, which serves to optimize our website. Your IP address is immediately anonymized during this process, so that you as a user remain anonymous to us. The information about your use of this website will not be passed on to third parties. If you do not agree to the storage and evaluation of this data, you can object to the storage and use below at any time with a click of the mouse. In this case, a so-called opt-out cookie is stored in your browser, which means that Matomo does not collect any session data.
Attention: If you delete your cookies, this means that the opt-out cookie will also be deleted and you may have to reactivate it.
Revocation
You can decide here whether a unique web analysis cookie may be stored in your browser in order to enable the operator of the website to collect and analyze various statistical data. If you would like to opt out, click the following link to store the Matomo deactivation cookie in your browser.
